How to organize tracks

Selecting and organizing tracks

  • After importing your audio files, locate the track you want to organize (for example, "Crash").
  • Click on the three dots next to the track name, or right-click on the track.

Changing track category

  • In the menu that appears, select the option to change the category.
  • Choose the new category you want (e.g., move "Crash" to "Percussion").
  • The track will instantly move to the selected category, updating your session’s organization.

Deleting tracks

  • If you want to remove a track, use the same menu (three dots or right-click) and select the delete option.
  • The track will be removed from your session.

Flexible and intuitive organization

  • You can repeat these steps to reorganize any track as you wish.
  • Forte allows you to customize your categories and move tracks freely, so your session always matches your preferred workflow.

How to organize multiple files in Forte

Selecting multiple tracks

  • Click on the tracks you want to select.
  • Use Shift + Click to select a range of tracks.
  • Use Command (or Ctrl) + Click to select individual tracks non-contiguously.

Changing categories for multiple tracks

  • After selecting your tracks, right-click to open the context menu.
  • Choose Change Category.
  • For example, assign all selected tracks to the Percussion category.
  • All selected tracks will instantly move to the chosen category, updating your session organization.

Renaming multiple tracks

  • With multiple tracks selected, right-click and choose Rename.
  • Rename the first track (e.g., “Drum”).
  • Forte will automatically rename the rest sequentially (e.g., Drum 1, Drum 2, etc.).

Deleting multiple tracks

  • Select the tracks you want to remove.
  • Right-click and choose Delete.
  • The selected tracks will be removed from the session.
