Learn how to quickly batch rename multiple tracks in Forte Import.
Selecting tracks for batch renaming
Use Shift + Click to select all the tracks you want to rename at once.
Then you can use the three dots menu or right-click to access batch renaming options.
Replacing text in track names
Choose the Batch Rename option from the menu.
For example, if you have tracks named "Percussion," you can replace that with "Perc."
Forte will automatically rename the tracks as "Perc 1," "Perc 2," etc., applying sequential numbering as needed.
Adding text to track names
You can also add text after the name, such as appending "OK" to each track.
The result will be names like "Perc 1ok," "Perc 2ok," and so on.
Formatting track names
Use the format feature to set a general base name and starting number for the tracks.
For example, set the base name to "Perc" and start numbering from 1, resulting in "Perc 1," "Perc 2," etc.
Conclusion
Batch renaming in Forte Import is fast and flexible. You can replace, add, or format text across any group of tracks, keeping your session clear and consistent.
