How to assign routings
Learn how to assign custom routings to your tracks in Forte Import.
How to Assign Custom Routings in Pro Tools
Accessing routing options
In Forte Import, click on the
Routing
button.
The routing window will display all available I/O (inputs/outputs) for your session.
Setting custom routing
Click
Set Routing Option
to begin assigning outputs.
By default, all tracks are routed to the main output.
To customize, simply click on the output route for each track or group you want to direct.
For example, you might route drums to one output, bass to another, and so on.
Assign each track or group to its preferred output destination according to your mix template or session needs.
Finalizing and using custom routing
Once all routings are assigned, your tracks will be directed to the correct outputs during import.
This setup ensures your session is organized and ready for mixing without additional manual routing.
How to Assign Custom Routings in Logic Pro
Accessing routing options
Once your tracks have been analyzed, click on
Set Routing Option
.
All routings will automatically align with your Logic Pro template, assigning each track to the appropriate bus or output.
Making manual adjustments
To change the routing for specific tracks, shift-click to select the desired tracks.
Open the buses menu and assign them to a new bus.
This process can be repeated for any group of tracks, allowing for flexible manual routing adjustments.
Efficiency and workflow
While the default automation covers most routing needs, the interface allows for fast manual changes if required.
This makes the workflow both efficient and user-friendly.
